The C++ program rotprof.c converts LADCP horizontal velocity profiles from a variety of formats, WKB-normalizes depth and velocity using already standardized accompanying CTD profiles, plots these as profiles of baroclinic (u', v'), profiles of HKE and horizontal velocity orientation and depth hodographs v'(z) vs. u'(z). It also prints out the rotlog template which has to be filled in by visual inspection of the plots and Elog.
rotlog lists drop number, cast number, latitude, longitude, cast depth, bottom depth, WKB-stretched bottom depth, energy index, standing index, node index, CW- and CCW-with-depth indices, mode, surface and bottom reflection indicex, surface and bottom intensity indices.
Elog lists drop number, cast number, latitude, longitude, cast depth, bottom depth, WKB-stretched bottom depth and average WKB-normalized HKE.
rotmap.c plots various profile parameters as determined by visual inspection along with Smith-and-Sandwell topography on a global map.
rotlat.c bins profile parameters with latitude and plots.
These programs are based on the architecture of the computer they were written for so that calls to subroutines and data files will need to be modified based on what is available to the user.
